Reviews from From “Manga Reviewer”-
“In the years since humans and robots first started living together, there has only been one murder of a human by a robot. Eight years after that incident, investigators are called to a crime scene to investigate the death of a
prominent robot rights supporter. The state of the victim, having been murdered in a brutal fashion and left with decorative horns on his head, draws a chilling parallel to the death of the robot hero Montblanc. When accidental footage of the scene reveals that the killer was a robot so advanced that it could pass for a human, the robot investigator Gesicht begins his search for not only the killer, but the truth to his own past and the events of the 39th Central Asian Conflict.
In Naoki Urasawa’s Pluto we have a story arc from the classic Astro Boy (or Tetsuwan Atom) series that is taken, refined, and retold. Focusing on Gesicht, a minor character from the original story, rather than Atom, the focus moves from action to plot. The manga deals intensely with the issues of robot rights, human rights, and the ramifications of two divergent forms of life. Questions are raised regarding the place of robots in society, what separates a human from a robot, and most importantly, how close to human a robot can become. The story telling is excellent, and few manga in the genre are as emotionally intensive, the short Norse #2 arc being particularly powerful. |

Roland and his band have narrowly escaped the city of Lud and boarded Blaine, a train that will take them to, of all places, Kansas, where the ghost city of Topeka has been depopulated by a superflu and where, alongside Interstate 70, an emerald palace rises enchantingly. Before Roland and the companions of his ka-tet continue along the Path of the Bean, Roland must tell his companions the tale that defines him both as a man and hero, a long-ago romance of witchery and evil, of the beautiful, unforgettable Susan Delgado, of the Big Coffin Hunters and Reah of the Coos. And when his tale is finished, Roland confronts a man who goes by many names, a man who "darkles and tincts" and who holds perhaps the key to the Dark Tower. |

"Crack the Fat-Loss Code brings you the most sensible solution to permanent weight management I have seen."
--Frederick C. Hatfield, Ph.D., bestselling author of Bodybuilding: A Scientific Approach, Hardcore Bodybuilding, and Ultimate Sports Nutrition
The human body evolved to resist starvation by holding on to fat. No wonder it's hard to lose weight! Now a revolutionary lifestyle plan finally cracks the code for efficient fat loss. Developed by leading nutrition specialist Wendy Chant, the plan is scientifically designed to help you "outsmart" your body's natural cycles for storing and burning calories. The plan teaches you to boost your metabolism through "macro-patterning"--a simple routine of alternating carb-up, carb-down, and baseline days. There are even built-in cheat days, so you can enjoy the foods you love. Once you get your eating habits on schedule, you'll find that you can lose weight . . . for good. |
