It's becoming quite clear that Grant Morrison is in the midst of crafting a modern Batman classic, one that will be remembered for some time. Morrison's "Three Batmen" story has been cerebral, challenging and utterly fascinating, adding new depth to the Batman mythos while reaffirming all that we know and love about the character to begin with. Like the best superhero storytellers, Morrison has a found a way to reach back into Batman's long history to infuse the character with a new haunting and disturbing angle that we sensed all along but never could quite pinpoint.

It also explores how they adapt to the changes these abilities bring, and their roles in preventing catastrophes and saving humanity.
